Frequently Asked Questions

Your sexual health services are changing

From 1st April 2025, sexual health services across Leicestershire County and Rutland, which were previously provided by Leicester Sexual Health, will be delivered by HCRG Care Group.

What do these changes mean?

From 31st March 2025, Leicester Sexual Health will no longer provide sexual health services from the following clinics:

- Hinckley Health Centre
- Rutland Memorial Hospital
- St. Luke’s Hospital Market Harborough
- Loughborough Health Centre
- Coalville Community Hospital

Other services previously delivered by Leicester Sexual Health, including the C-Card, will no longer be provided in these areas. Condoms will be available from HCRG Care Group.

I live in Leicestershire, but my address is closer to the Haymarket Health clinic in the City Centre and I have always attended there. Can I continue coming to Haymarket?

There are a variety of services available to you in the community from pharmacies and other healthcare centres. This includes emergency contraception (EHC), oral contraception (the pill and mini pill) and condoms. You may want to speak to your GP or primary care provider to find out what services are available in your area.

You can find the nearest Leicestershire or Rutland clinic/service on the HCRG Care Group website: Find Your Nearest Sexual Health Clinic | HCRG Care Group

I’m not sure if I live in Leicester City or Leicestershire County.

You can find out if you live in Leicester City or Leicestershire County by typing your postcode in the gov.uk website: Find your local council - GOV.UK

What if I have an appointment booked after 31st March?

Any appointments required for the above listed clinics after 31st March will be managed by HCRG Care Group. Some staff from Leicester Sexual Health will transfer to HCRG Care Group, so you may continue to see many of the same healthcare professionals.

For Leicester residents, appointments made at Haymarket Health, Beaumont Leys and CHOICES clinics will continue to run as usual, provided by Leicester Sexual Health.

What will happen to my medical records?

If you live in Leicestershire or Rutland and have attended any Leicester Sexual Health clinics, your medical records will be securely transferred to HCRG Care Group. You do not need to take any action unless you do not wish to transfer your care record.

I do not want my records to be transferred.

In the event you do not consent to your information transferring to the new provider, no information will be shared. This will mean that when accessing sexual health services in Leicestershire and Rutland, you will be a new patient which may require you to complete any previous assessments again.

Additionally, the new provider will not have access to your previous sexual health record and the information from previous attendances at the service. This includes previous care provided by Leicester Sexual Health and/or testing results, and may cause a delay in your treatment while this information is requested from Inclusion (by HCRG) with your consent.

If you do not wish to transfer your care record to HCRG Care Group, please let us know by calling 0300 124 0102 (option 1, option 6) or by email to LSHsecretaries@mpft.nhs.uk by 28th February 2025. However, please note we are legally required to maintain your current notes.

Where can I find more information on the new provider?

For more information on HCRG Care Group services, visit their website: www.thesexualhealthhub.co.uk.

I live in Leicester City. How do these changes affect me?

Sexual health services within Leicester City at Haymarket Health Centre, Beaumont Leys Health Centre, and our CHOICES clinics will continue to be delivered by Leicester Sexual Health, which is provided by Inclusion as part of Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT). Services will not change.
