Julie Eason and Alison Spooner are Senior Project Workers based within the Leicester Sexual Health NHS Service. The service is commissioned by Leicester City Council to support Leicester City Primary & Secondary Schools and Further Education Colleges in their work towards delivery of statutory Relationship & Sexual Health Education (RSHE).
Both Julie and Alison come from professional backgrounds and are able to support with the understanding and provision of the statutory requirements to help achieve the delivery of good quality RSHE in a variety of ways.
As Senior Project Workers, they can provide:
- A shared review of each site’s current provision against national recommendations
- An evaluation of current RSHE provision at each site and its impact
- Develop best practice in RSHE with schools
- Provide an update on policy and curriculum requirements
Level 1 Sexual Health e-Learning Module
The Level 1 e-Learning module is aimed at practitioners working with young people, and is designed to enhance understanding of sexual health and to benefit delivery to young people. Many types of practitioners may benefit from taking this course, including teachers, welfare and progress coaches, youth workers, care/support workers, foster carers, vulnerable young person’s workers and youth offending teams.
The learning covers the full range of sexual health services available and how to access them, including:
- Contraception methods
- Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
- Consent and the law
- The C-Card condom scheme
- Information on other relevant services and resources
